Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Palo Alto will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in California usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (650) 815-2700. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is tarosanudon.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 697 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Palo Alto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Palo Alto follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Food was fine, service was great and atomosphere was fine. Portion size was perfect, not too large and not too small. Noodles were OK, but the Soup was missing some seasoning and tasted more like water. Wagyu beef was good and delicious, overall a 4/5.

During a recent business trip near Palo Alto, we visited Taro San Japanese Noodle Bar, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. While we were hoping for a seamless meal, the service left a lot to be desired. We specifically requested to split the check three ways for our business expenses, but the restaurant couldn't be bothered to accommodate us, which created an unnecessary hassle. As for the meal itself, the food was averageβpassable for a quick bite, but certainly not a standout in the local dining scene. Between the rigid service and the mediocre flavors, it didn't leave much of an impression. Given the lack of flexibility for professional travelers, I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

Cute place. Nice vibe, but I had a hair on my sushi. However, they did replace the order in a timely manner. Both hostess and manager were apologetic and gave free dessert with our meal.

I was excited to try this place but I was disappointed at the food. Udon: both order of udon came out within 5 mins of ordering. I got the Niku Udon, added a soft egg. The udon itself was undercooked for me, so it tasted a bit too doughy. The Broth wasn't too salty but was not that hot. The soft egg was not executed well because it looked like the egg stuck to the shell and someone had to peel it by hand. The egg yolk was still soft, just not the best presentation. The rib eye tasted overcooked and chewy even though it still looked a bit pink when it was first served. My friend got the Wagyu Niku and it tasted much better. Her noodles were more cooked than mine. We also ordered the Ebi fry. It looked a bit too burnt when it was served, but one of the Ebi looked undercooked, which means the oil was too hot. They remade it for us. But I probably won't get it again. Overall the food was disappointing, luckily there was no wait at 12:30 on Saturday. There was a line at the door around 1:30p

Great food, excellent location and cool interior. The food is definitely prepared thoughtfully and with love. The udon noodles (their specialty) are great and come with different meat options. Both the chicken and the cauliflower karaage are delicious. Finally, the mixed-mushroom truffle risotto is outstanding. Really delicious and savory and we just couldn't get enough. It's one of those dishes you dream about for a long time.
